<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display method for an information processor, capable of compactly displaying a functional menu at a predetermined location on a limited display screen. <P>SOLUTION: By operation of an operation instruction device (mouse) 14, a cursor 13 is displayed on the display screen 50. By operation of the mouse 14, a plurality of icons 101 of first layer is displayed at a coordinate location of the cursor 13, and a first layer icon group 102 is displayed in which icons are arranged densely in a predetermined range centering the coordinate location. If the mouse 14 is operated to select one icon 101 of first layer from among the first layer icon group 102, presence/absence of the icon 101 of lower layer of the selected icon 101 of first layer is determined. If the icon 101 of lower layer is present, a second layer icon group 112 is displayed in which icons are densely arranged within a predetermined range centering a coordinate location, at the coordinate location of the selected first layer icon 101.
