<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device and image forming apparatus, achieving registration of a sheet in the width direction with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet is obliquely fed by an oblique feeding roller 101a, and the side end of the sheet is abutted against the reference surface extending in the sheet carrying direction of a reference guide 100 provided in a re-carrying passage for again carrying the sheet on which an image has been formed on one side surface by an image forming part to the image forming part.
