<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a packet loss rate on outward and homeward routes, with good accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitting side probe 10 of a packet loss rate calculation system 1 transmits a quality measuring packet to a receiving side probe 20, and advances a packet transmission counter (S) every time the quality measuring packet is transmitted. Subsequently, the receiving side probe 20 receives the quality measuring packet transmitted by the transmitting side probe 10, and attaches a packet reception counter (M) to the quality measuring packet to be returned to the transmitting side probe 10. Then, the transmitting side probe 10 receives the quality measuring packet returned, extracts the number of reception packets from the quality measuring packet, and calculates a packet loss rate by using a difference between the packet transmission counter (S) and the packet reception counter (M), and a difference between the packet reception counter (M) extracted and a packet return counter (R), after all of the quality measuring packets are received. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
