PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission capable reducing positioning manhour when relatively positioning a first link and a second link. SOLUTION: The toroidal type continuously variable transmission is provided with a power roller 9 carrying out power transmission between an input disc and an output disc, a trunnion rotatably supporting the power roller 9, the first link 16 and the second link 28 supporting the trunnion 10, a first bracket 17 attaching the first link 16 to a first fixed member 19, and a second bracket 30 attaching the second link 28 to a second fixed member 31. Positioning reference mechanisms 36, 109 contacting a common positioning member 20 positioning the first bracket 17 and the second bracket 30 in a direction of a plane in parallel with a rotating axis are respectively provided on the first bracket 17 and the second bracket 30.
