PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device of a working machine capable of improving usability by allowing the working machine to be temporarily driven while checkup and repair are carried out even in an abnormal state where a target rotating speed can not be instructed by a target rotating speed instructing means. SOLUTION: This engine control device of a working machine is provided with: the manual operation type target rotating speed instructing means 40 instructing a target rotating speed of an engine E; a rotating sped detection means S6 detecting the rotating speed of the engine E; a rotating speed adjustment means 42 capable of changing and adjusting the rotating speed of the engine E; and a control means H controlling the rotating speed adjustment means 42 to set the rotating speed of the engine E at a target value based of the detection information of the rotating speed detection means S6. When the control means H executes a substitutional process for abnormality of controlling the rotating speed adjustment means 42 to set the rotating speed of the engine E at a preset working rotating speed when it is determined that the engine is in an abnormal state where the target rotating speed can not be instructed by the target rotating speed instructing means 40.
