The electrical contacts are connected with electrical conductors (38, 40), which are guided in an area outside of the lighting device. The inner side of the housing is covered by a covering unit (44) that is fastened to the housing, and the conductors are guided by a recess that is formed at the covering unit and/or the housing, where the cover unit is made from a plastic material e.g. polyamide.
