<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium verification device for presenting not only comparative verification by visual inspection but objective auxiliary information for verification in short period of time to raise verification accuracy in verification of a verification medium having images comprised of optical members with characteristics that texture and/or colors change according to the observation direction and/or the illumination direction. <P>SOLUTION: In verification of the verification medium having patterns comprised of the optical members (for example, holograms) with the characteristics that the texture and/or colors change according to the observation direction and/or the illumination direction on the surface, the medium verification device has: an image acquisition means for performing illumination under a plurality of illuminating conditions to acquire the images; and an attribute determination means for determining attributes of the verification medium, and analyzes the images obtained by the image acquisition means by an appropriate method while varying observation conditions according to the determined medium attributes to display its analysis results in an appropriate display mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
