PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone-based fiber useful as various kinds of modifiers of synthetic resin and as a reinforcing material of a composite material. SOLUTION: The the fiber composed of a non-melting solid silicone having an elemental composition represented by a formula (1): SiC<SB>a</SB>H<SB>b</SB>O<SB>c</SB>(wherein, (a) is a number that satisfies 0.5≤a≤7.0, b is a number that satisfies 0.5≤b≤8.0, and c is a number that satisfies 1.0≤c≤3.0).
