PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inner column connected to an inner rod and an outer rod from being removed out from an outer column even if the inner rod and the outer rod happen to be relatively movable in an axial direction by generation of any abnormality on an impact absorption member at the usual time when secondary collision load is not applied. SOLUTION: When slip of the impact absorption member 74 occurs between the outer rod 71 and the inner rod 72 by any abnormality, the outer rod is excessively moved to a rear side of the vehicle to the inner rod 72, however, a rod movement restriction part 75 engaged with an outer periphery of an end at a vehicle front side of the outer rod 71 abuts on a surface directed to the vehicle front side around an insertion hole 59a of a rotation suppression part 59. Thereby, it restricts movement to the vehicle rear side so that the outer rod 71 is not removed out from the inner rod 72. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
