PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle inspecting apparatus and a nozzle inspecting method which prevents a nozzle from clogging caused by an increase in viscosity of the recording liquid in a printing head in a nozzle inspection for inspecting the existence of delivery of a recording liquid by detecting the change in electric voltage between electrodes when an electrically charged ink droplet is delivered and avoids that a driving signal generated for the purpose of preventing the increase in viscosity of the recording liquid influences the result of the inspection on the existence of the delivery of the recording liquid. SOLUTION: A pressure controlling part controls a first pressure generating part so as to generate a first pressure to the recording liquid on the nozzle to be an object to be inspected until the amount of nozzle inspection reaches a specified amount of inspection. On all the nozzles except the nozzle to be the object to be inspected, the pressure controlling part controls so that the recording liquid may generate no pressure, and when the amount of nozzle inspection reaches the specified amount of inspection, it controls a second pressure generating part so that the recording liquid may generate a second pressure on all of a plurality of the nozzles.
