PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit an additive injected from an adding nozzle from being blown back in an internal combustion engine having a plurality of combustion exhaust systems composed of a cylinder group comprising a plurality of cylinders and an exhaust passage of exhaust gas exhausted from the cylinder group, wherein exhaust in the cylinder group is performed at uneven intervals. SOLUTION: The adding nozzle 30A is connected to an exhaust port of the cylinder 7, and the adding nozzle 30B is connected to the exhaust port of the cylinder 8. A pump 31 supplies the adding nozzle 30A with the additive (gas oil), and the pump 31B supplies the adding nozzle 30B with the additive (gas oil). An operation period Ka of the pump 31A spreads over a blank period t1 of transition from an exhaust stroke period E5 to an exhaust stroke period E1, and an operation period Kb of the pump 31B spreads over a blank period t2 of transition from an exhaust stroke period F2 to an exhaust stroke period F4.
