PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overcap in which a tab section for removing a pilfer-proof band is prevented from projecting too much to the outside from the cylindrical section of the cap body, and the tab section is prevented from being deformed when hand touches it, or an article hits it, and also, the pulling up of the tab section is facilitated by easily gripping it. SOLUTION: This over-cap 1 includes a cap body 8 which can be fitted on and attached to the top part of a can, and the pilfer-proof band 10 which is connected with the cap body through a tearing section 9. The tab section 11 is formed in a region being adjacent to the lower end edge of the cylindrical section of the cap body, and a through hole 15 and a recess 16 are formed at a position facing the end and an upper part, and thus, an end region of the tab section is made easy to grip. At the same time, a protrusion 23 is provided at the end of the tab section to facilitate the placing of the finger. In addition, the other part of the tab section is prevented from projecting to the outside from the outer peripheral surface of the cap body 8, and is prevented from becoming an obstacle.
