PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a mobile station of a base station list including more base stations as a candidate of a suitable handover destination in a multi-band radio communication system. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a cell search method in a multi-band radio communication system comprising a mobile station and a plurality of base stations. The method includes the steps of: classifying the base stations into a plurality of first categories on the basis of cell sizes, classifying the base stations into a plurality of second categories based on radio frequency bands of the base stations, and making the first and second categories correspondent to a moving speed of the mobile station; selecting at least one of the first categories and one of the second categories, respectively from the acquired moving speed based on correspondence of the first and second categories and the moving speed of the mobile station; creating a base station list to be reported to the mobile station based on information about base stations belonging to the selected first and second categories and notifying the mobile station of the base station list; and carrying out a cell search at the mobile station on the basis of the reported base station list.
