PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which outputs an image regardless of whether it is a still image or a motion image. SOLUTION: The printer 10 includes a printing unit 120 which prints the image, a projecting unit 220 which projects an optical image of the image, a selecting means 101 which selects either printing mode of a first printing mode of printing or projecting the image based on a motion image file and a second printing mode of printing or projecting the image based on a still image file, and a control means 101 which controls each of printing of the printing unit 120 and projection of the projecting unit 220 according to the printing mode selected by the selecting means 101.
