PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method of manufacturing an emulsion. SOLUTION: The method is used to manufacture an emulsion from a resin ingredient containing basic or acidic groups, a hardening agent and an organic solvent by using a vibrating mixer and includes (i) a process of supplying a raw material comprising the resin ingredient, hardening agent and solvent from an inflow inlet of the mixer to obtain a mixture A, (ii) a process of supplying an aqueous solution of neutralizing agent from the first supply port of the mixer to obtain a mixture B which consists of a water phase serving as a dispersion phase and a continuous oil phase containing the organic solvent, the resin ingredient having been neutralized with the neutralizing agent and the hardening agent and (iii) a process of supplying water from the second supply port of the mixer to carrying out phase inversion so as to form an emulsion. The raw material has a viscosity of 400-5,000 mPa s, the mixture B has a viscosity of 10,000-50,000 mPa s, and the emulsion has a viscosity of 5-300 mPa s. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
