The machine has a suction unit for suction of gas, in particular atmospheric air, from packages, and a gas supplying pipeline provided for supplying the gas. A seal plate seals the packages after the gas supply, and sealing strips (10) are arranged in an area of an intermediate bar between the packages. The strips are provided for sealing an inner area of the packages against the suction unit before the gas supply. The packages are manufactured from an upper foil (6) and a lower foil (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for packing a packaging material in packages.
