The method involves providing finite-element-models of a shaping tool for warm-shaping of a metal plate. Time-temperature-transformation data record of a steel material is provided to describe time-dependent transformation characteristics of the steel material. Warm-shaping simulation of the metal plate is executed by the shaping tool. Temporary local mechanical characteristics e.g. hardness, and physical characteristics of the metal plate is calculated during and after the end of warm-shaping simulation on the basis of local and temporary phase composition of the steel material.
