<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation device which can represent a realistic background image and an information storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: While an original image area 62 corresponding to an image after mapping is moved in a texture space in real time, the image in the original image area 62 is mapped to a most distant view object. Thereby, moving clouds are represented. The most distant view object has an end plane where the image is mapped while the original image area moves in real time and a side plane where the image is mapped without the movement. The colors of the end plane and side plane are varied gradually to the color of the border as closer to the border to obscure the border. The end plane is formed by a concentrically arranged polygon. In the texture space, a first area wherein an image showing first weather is defined and a second area wherein an image showing second weather is defined are provided and the original image area 62 is moved between the first and second areas.
