PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the channel of a changeover destination from becoming a CM when the channel is changed-over during the CM by quickly changing-over the channels without giving an unnatural feeling. SOLUTION: Necessary information is acquired from a program information database 5 in S5. The CM is detected in S6. When it is determined that the CM is not being broadcasted, it is determined whether time t and video/sound information are recorded or not in S7. When the recording of the time t is not determined, it is determined whether the CM is being broadcasted. The files without including the CM are held as the files F(1)-F(N) corresponding to the N channels. Immediately after channel changing-over, the held files are reproduced, and then, video/sound signals being currently received are subsequently presented. The recording time of the files to be held and compression ratios are set by program category. Then, a viewer can easily obtain the contents of the programs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
