PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate management of character fonts. SOLUTION: Characters to be used are limited. An array variable having array elements matched with the number of the characters is declared. Font data of characters specified with character codes (00 to FF) are stored in the array elements I(00) to I(FF) having the character codes (00 to FF) as indexes. When font data of an arbitrary character code are read out, the array element I(character code) having the character code as an index is read out. The character code and the font data corresponding to the character code are made to correspond to each other by defining variables to contain successive data of the same type (so-called an array).
