The suspension cord (4) winding device (10) for a shutter comprises a winding drum (11) to which the end of at least one suspension cord is attached, said drum having on the outer surface of the drum a helical groove (11R) to house said suspension cord and a guide means (12) for positioning the cord in the groove during winding. It is characterized in that the cord is held in the groove by a locking means (13) connected to the drum.
