PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with a fast operational speed by employing spiral substituted polyacethylene. SOLUTION: The device includes a spiral substituted polyacethylene 405 whose principal chain has a periodical spiral structure and a pair of estranged electrodes 403, 404 for applying voltage on the spiral substituted polyacethylene or supplying electric current to the same while the length of molecule of the spiral substituted polyacethylene is longer than a distance between the pair of electrodes.
