PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient utilization of recording residual capacity by urging a user to positively change a recording mode when the recording residual capacity of a recording medium becomes short. SOLUTION: A cellular telephone 30 with a camera can select the recording of still image information into a memory card as the recording medium from among a plurality of recording modes (modes 5M, 4M, 3M, 2M and 1M) and execute the selected mode. A control section 32 compares the residual recording capacity of the memory card with a predetermined quantity previously set, and when the residual recording capacity becomes smaller than the predetermined quantity, the control section causes a display section 35 to display information of residual recordable capacity corresponding to each of the recording modes.
