PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly move a playback position to a scene desired by a user. SOLUTION: A microprocessor 11 is provided with a skip destination image acquiring part 111 for reading only the predetermined number of pieces of image information at a skip destination, which is two or more from a DVD-RAM 100 to acquire the predetermined number of pieces of image information on the basis of an operation input from a remote control 2, a selection image generating means 112 for generating selection image information that selectably displays position information of the skip destination and all corresponding image information as one image, a selection image displaying part 113 for displaying the selection image information on a display 3, a playback position setting part 115 for selecting position information of one skip destination in the selection image information on the basis of the operation input from the remote control 2 and setting a playback position at a position corresponding to the selected position information, and a playback position skipping part 116 for moving the playback position to the skip destination set by the playback position setting means.
