PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively decrease a residual potential and to obtain high sensitivity as well as a preferable image. SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor is disclosed, which has a photosensitive layer containing at least an electron transporting agent, a charge generating agent and a binder resin on a conductive substrate, wherein the electron transporting agent is a compound expressed by formula (1). In formula (1), R represents a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl group, a 6-20C aryl group having a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkyl group as a substituent, a 6-20C aralkyl group, a 3-10C cycloalkyl group or a 1-6C straight-chain or branched alkoxy group; and X represents an oxygen atom or a nitrogen atom having a 1-6C alkyl group or a 6-20C aryl group as a substituent.
