An internal combustion engine comprises a base component and at least one accessory piece fixed to said base component, the accessory piece being made of plastic and glued to the base component. In addition to the gluing, at least one other fixation means is provided which is holding the plastic accessory piece to the base component. According to the invention, the plastic accessory piece is fixed to the base component by means of several fixation points. A first fixation point is provided as a centering point while the other fixation points are displaceably arranged along their connecting lines relative to the centering point, thereby allowing a tolerance compensation.
