<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and effectively inspect a printed matter in which at least character data is printed. <P>SOLUTION: A printed matter inspection device comprises a memory means for storing character data area information for indicating a position of a character data area on which character data or codes of the printed matter are printed, and the character data or codes to be printed on the area in association with each other, an inspection image data acquiring means for imaging the printed matter and acquiring inspection image data, a character data area extracting means for extracting the character data area among the imaged inspection image data on the basis of the memory means, a conversion means for converting image data of the character data area extracted by the character data area extracting means into character data or codes, a character data extracting means for extracting the character data or codes to be printed in the character data area, and a determining means for determining whether or not the printed matter is acceptable by comparing the character data or codes converted by the conversion means and the character data or codes extracted by the character data extracting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
