<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric ceramic for a multilayer ceramic capacitor excellent in reliability even made to a thin layer, and its temperature characteristic of capacitance satisfies B characteristic and X7R characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: This dielectric ceramic comprises barium titanate, at least one kind of rare-earth oxide among Y, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Yb, calcium oxide and silicon oxide. When the barium titanate, rare-earth oxide, calcium oxide, silicon oxide and zirconium oxide are expressed as Ba<SB>m</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>, RO<SB>3/2</SB>(provided that R is a rare-earth element), CaO, SiO<SB>2</SB>and ZrO<SB>2</SB>, respectively, the dielectric ceramic comprises a mole of RO<SB>3/2</SB>, b mole of CaO, c mole of SiO<SB>2</SB>and d mole of ZrO<SB>2</SB>to 100 moles of Ba<SB>m</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>, where m, a, b, c and d each satisfy relations of 0.990≤m≤1.030; 0.5≤a≤30; 0.1≤b≤30; 0.5≤c≤30; 0.075≤d≤0.38, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
