<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sound quality by improving convergence speed of quantization processing. <P>SOLUTION: A quantization bit number calculation section 12 calculates: a Huffman code word bit number which is a bit number when a quantization value is Huffman coded; an optimal Huffman code table number bit number which is a bit number of a number of an optimal Huffman code table which is selected from a plurality of Huffman code tables B1; and a bit number for scale factors, which is a bit number required for a scale factor for each sub-band. When first quantization processing is performed, the quantization bit number calculation section 12 calculates the Huffman code word bit number regarding the quantization value calculated from the sub-band of every n pieces, and a bit number prediction section 13 totals the Huffman code word bit number multiplied by (n+1), the optimal Huffman code table number bit number, and the bit number for scale factors, and calculates a prediction bit number. A parameter updating section 15 updates a parameter of quantization processing time, when the prediction bit number exceeds an allowable bit number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
