<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muntin which allows the rigid fixture of a fastener thereto when a cylindrical core is inserted and fixed into a cylindrical decorative member, and to provide a fence using the muntin. <P>SOLUTION: The muntin is formed of the cylindrical resin decorative member 2 and the cylindrical metallic core 3 inserted into the decorative member 2. The internal wall surface 2a of the decorative member 2 and at least one of internal wall surfaces 3a, 3b of the core 3 have formed thereon thick walls 2c, 3c and 3d, and therefore by screwing or driving the fastener 5 through the thick wall portions 2c, 3c and 3d, friction which the fastener 5 receives from the muntin 1 for a building is increased, to thereby prevent the fastener 5 from slipping out of the muntin 1.
