<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for chip removing work and a cutting insert for it capable of efficiently improving a risk of chipping and a tendency of cracking. <P>SOLUTION: The two replaceable cutting inserts 2, 3 are overlapped on each other in a zone partitioned by a boundary line, and a surface formed by a main cutting edge of the first cutting insert 2 is cut across by a main cutting edge of the following second insert 3 a certain period of time late. The main cutting edge of the second cutting insert 3 is formed along chip surfaces including first and second chip surface parts, and the first and second chip surface parts have cross-section shapes different along the main cutting edge from each other to form a first part cutting edge arranged to cut across the previously formed surface and a second reinforced part cutting edge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
