摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OCB (Optically Compensated Bend) mode liquid crystal display wherein the state of liquid crystal molecules can be transferred from a splay alignment state to a bend alignment state in a short time at the time when power is supplied and to provide a driving method therefor. SOLUTION: The OCB mode liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a first electrode formed on the first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a second electrode formed on the second substrate and facing the first electrode, a liquid crystal layer formed between the first and second electrodes and filled with liquid crystals, and a plurality of charge supplying units supplying charges to the first electrode several times to apply a bend voltage for transferring an arrangement of the liquid crystals. The charge corresponding to the bend voltage is supplied to a liquid crystal capacitor several times and the bend voltage is uniformly applied to the whole common electrode to transfer liquid crystal alignment to the bend alignment in a short time.
