PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synchronize a clock signal with the magnetic dot of a patterned medium. SOLUTION: A point where the amplitude of the reproduced waveform of a patterned medium becomes zero is detected, and a zero level detection signal is output to the clock generation circuit. The clock generation circuit synchronizes a clock signal with the zero level detection signal. Thus, the clock signal can be synchronized with the magnetic dot. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
