PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm for speaker excellent in tone quality as well as in ruggedness, enabling a simple manufacturing process at a low manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: An intermediate layer (a base film 2) consisting of at least one material selected from a group consisting of chromium, titanium and vanadium is formed on a base 1 consisting of aluminum, an aluminum alloy, titanium or a titanium alloy, and a boron carbide film 3 is formed by sputtering on the base film 2. The thickness of the base film 2 is 0.1 to 0.3μm. The Young's modulus of the diaphragm is 85 to 128 GPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
