PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station capable of securely receiving communication start requests from user terminals exceeding a maximum space multiplex number and immediately starting communication by a present hardware constitution of an SDMA system, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: A base station device (100) allows a plurality of user terminals to which a plurality of space multiplex channels obtained by the space multiplexing of the same frequency band are allocated to perform radio communication simultaneously. The device comprises a base station device having a transmission processing unit (120TR) which performs the transmission processing for the plurality of user terminals, a reception processing unit (120RC) which performs reception processing from the plurality of user terminals, and a control unit (110) which controls the reception processing unit so that when the predetermined maximum space multiplex number is reached, a new space multiplex channel of only an uplink side is allocated to a new user terminal to perform reception processing.
