PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a speaker instrument capable of changing the output of a sound having satisfactory quality from a speaker and the protection of the speaker by a simple configuration. SOLUTION: In the speaker instrument 10, the arrangement of a cover member 4 can be changed to first arrangement and second arrangement by a simple configuration for pivoting the cover member 4 while a support shaft 3 is fitted to a guide groove 4c in the cover member 4. In the speaker instrument 10, the first arrangement for covering the speaker 2 is achieved in the cover member 4, thus protecting the speaker 2 from damage and dirt. The second arrangement where the cover member 4 is retracted for exposing the speaker 2 is achieved, thus outputting the sound having satisfactory quality from the speaker 2 having an opening ratio of 100%.
