CLEANING APPARATUS WITH SOFT STARTING FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus which can be started so that the transient torque is reduced to an acceptable level in the speed range from standstill to the working speed. SOLUTION: A floor cleaning apparatus is driven by a switched reluctance drive that is soft-started to avoid any transient torque reaction disturbing the body of the cleaner. The soft-start is produced by profiling the current demand for the drive system as a function of the rotor speed.
