The engine has a converter (10) for converting thermal energy from repetitive combustion processes into a non-thermal energy form and coordinated to harmonics of the combustion processes. The converter or additional converters is coordinated to additional harmonics of the combustion processes, and energy received in the harmonics is added by addition units, where the converter has a fuel supply and an ignition part. The addition units are designed as planetary gears. The ignition part is designed as a laser ignition part, compression ignition part and spark ignition part.
