<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which is used in an MVA mode liquid crystal display device and has high contrast between a black display section and a white display section. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter has: a transparent substrate; red, blue, and green coloring layers formed on the transparent substrate; a transparent electrode layer formed on the coloring layers; and light shielding protrusions for controlling liquid crystal alignment formed on the transparent electrode layer, wherein the color filter is characterized in that the light shielding protrusions for controlling liquid crystal alignment has transmittance of light of 435 nm wavelength within 1-35% range, that of light of 545 nm wavelength within 1-35% range, and that of light of 610 nm wavelength within 1-50% range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
