PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive program recording device in which CM in a broadcast program is detected highly accurately, to be skip-reproduced, and which is excellent in usability. SOLUTION: An audio processing part 106 has a silent section discriminating part (S303) comparing a level of an audio signal included in a broadcast program with a threshold value V<SB>0</SB>and discriminating a section of V<SB>0</SB>as the silent section, and a CM section discriminating part (S304) discriminating a section between silent sections as a CM section when interval T between adjacent silent sections coincides with the prescribed time length Tc. The silent section discriminating part does not determines it as the silent section when duration W of the silent section is less than a threshold value W<SB>0</SB>. The CM section discriminating part extends a finish point of the last CM section to a recording finish point t3 when interval Te between the last CM section finish point t2 and the recording finish point t3 is less than the prescribed time Te<SB>0</SB>.
