PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information leakage prevention device and an information leakage prevention method for improving secrecy against illegal reading from a third person, and for restoring information in a readable state again as necessary. SOLUTION: A password creating part 11a inside an information leakage prevention device 1 acquires medium information such as a serial number from an HDD 2, and creates a password according to an algorithm previously stored in an algorithm storing part 14.
