PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for casting a cast steel throw for a crankshaft made of cast steel in which the generation of a casting defect that reverse V segregation and a gap are caused at a pin part is reduced, and to provide a cast steel throw for a crankshaft made of cast steel. SOLUTION: In the method for casting a cast steel throw for a crankshaft made of cast steel where a cast steel throw 1 composed of a pair of arms pieces 2, 2 and a pin part 3 for connecting each one end side of the arm pieces 2, 2 provided so as to be confronted each other, and journal holes 4, 4 are formed on each edge part side reverse to the respective arm pieces 2, 2 is cast with a molten metal 6 packed into a mold 5, the mold 5 is arranged in such a manner that the shaft direction of the pin part 3 is made horizontal, and the molten metal 6 is packed into the mold 5 in which a feeder head 7 connected to the upper part of the pin part 3 is shifted to the side of the journal holes 4, and the inner wall face 9 of the mold is tilted upward in such a manner that the surface on the side of each journal hole 4 in an excess metal part 8 formed by connecting the feeder head 7 and the pin part 3 is tilted downward, so as to cast the cast steel throw 1.
