PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a platy wax particle with a thin and uniform thickness, suitable as an industrial particle for manufacturing a particle for manufacturing cosmetics, a color material, water-soluble ink, etc., a manufacturing method where particle size difference is made uniform, and the tabular wax particle can be formed in any appearance shape, and a wax layer transfer sheet used in the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the platy wax particle, after thermally transferring the wax layer of the wax layer transfer sheet having at least the wax layer on a substrate to a material to be transferred, the wax layer is peeled off and crushed. In the manufacturing method of the platy wax particle, after the wax layer is thermally transferred in an arbitrary shape by using a thermal head, the wax layer is peeled off. The wax layer transfer sheet keeps a wax layer, consisting mainly of a waxy material, overlying the substrate, and, if necessary, an adhesive layer overlying the wax layer.
