PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-coating material that exhibits excellent adhesion to a substrate resin even when applied for one layer coating as well as excellent abrasion resistance and weather resistance, and a transparent resin molded item having its surface coated that can be used as plastic glass for automobiles. SOLUTION: The acrylic resin composition 20 having a filler dispersed therein comprises (A) a methoxy group-bearing silane-modified acrylic resin 12, obtained by an epoxy ring-opening esterification reaction of a carboxy group-bearing acrylic polymer (1) with a glycidyl ether group-bearing methoxysilane partial condensate (2) obtained by a demethanolation reaction of glycidol with a methoxysilane partial condensate, (B) a methoxysilane partial condensate 14, (C) a solvent and (D) a finely dispersed silica filler 10.
