A stand (110) for a lap top computer comprises a carrier plate (112) on which the computer is to be carried and means (128) at one end (118) thereof to raise that end relative to the other (116). The arrangement is such that when the lap top computer rests on the carrier plate it will be inclined to the horizontal at an appropriate angle for operation. There are slots (144) through the carrier plate so that air can pass therethrough to cool the computer. |
