A method and an apparatus for processing a signal, and an encoding/encoding method, and an apparatus therefor are provided to group data and perform data coding and entropy coding with correlation, thereby improving the efficiency of data coding. A data grouping part(10) groups input signals. Data encoding parts(20,31,32) encode input data respectively according to a corresponding encoding scheme. The encoding scheme includes a PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) scheme and a DIFF(Differential coding) scheme at least. An entropy encoding part(40) performs variable length coding according to the statistical characteristics of the data referring to an entropy table(41). A bitstream multiplexing part(50) arranges and/or converts the coded data according to transmission standards and transmits the coded data in a bitstream format.
