A locating mechanism to allow a strap to be used to attach articles to fixed members for example in vehicles comprises a strap 10 formed from two layers 11, 12 of webbing interwoven with each other at intervals 14 along their length to form of a series of loops 13; and a fastener for securing the strap to the member having an arm 1 adapted to engage into one of the loops, and an arm 2 adapted to abut the outside of the webbing. The fastener can be removably connected to the webbing in a manner which resists disconnection by relative movement in the longitudinal line of the webbing and is attached to the member either by a mounting hole 7 or by a hook or clip. As shown a central arm 1 and two outer arms 2, 3 are provided with holes 4 defined between the arms and accessed by passageways 5. Alternatively only a single outer arm can be used and this arm can be passed through the loop so that the interwoven point 14 lies inside the hole 4. |
