Thermophilic sulfate-binding protein, its use and a biosensor comprising the protein

The invention relates to a substantially pure sulfate-binding protein derived from Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius. Another object of the invention concerns the use of the protein for determining the presence or the concentration of sulfate in a sample as well as methods for that. The invention also relates to a biosensor comprising that sulfate-binding protein.
