<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and freely select paper feeding stages without being aware of the set state of each paper feeding stage of an image recording device under the environment of a network utilized by a plurality of users. <P>SOLUTION: A video controller 103 compares media set information on the paper feed stages obtained by investigating set information on the plurality of paper feed stages held by the image recording device with media format information acquired from print data supplied from a data processing device to determine whether attributes match each other or not. When a paper feed stage in which the attributes match each other is present, the attribute is selected.
