PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic resistor in which the variation of an electrical resistance value is made small by having carbon black which is conductive material uniformly dispersed, and a method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: This is a ceramic resistor the aggregate of which is insulating inorganic particles, and the conductive materials of which are made of carbon powder being easily water dispersive carbon black powder the surface of which is modified by an oxidizing processing. As a method of manufacturing this ceramic resistor, the moisture dispersed liquid of the easily water dispersive carbon black powder whose surface is modified by the oxidizing processing is added to the mixed powder of the insulating inorganic powder with binding agent, mixed, molded, and then burned. The summed amounts of a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group are improved so as to be 3 μeq/m<2> or more by the oxidizing processing, and it is preferable that the concentration of the easily water dispersive carbon black powder in the moisture dispersed liquid be 50 weight% or less. |
